“Listening is the first step towards loving”, said Yvonne Trubert, the founder of the movement Invitation to Life. The world today, despite its appearance of abundant communication, in fact generates a great deal of solitude.

Listening, during an interview with IVI, enables everyone to express what they have in their heart; it's accepting people as they are, without attempting to give advice, without any psychological analysis. It's this atmosphere of non-judgement and compassion that helps them to stand face to face with themselves, and, with silent prayer, to offer up to God what has been revealed. These interviews are offered in an IVI centre to anyone who asks for them. The telephone service “SOS Listening” offers all callers an attentive presence and support run by volunteers
